Malaysia- Ketupat (Rice Cake)

Ingredients:

         1#                           Jasmine rice

2ea                          Strong plastic Glad zipper bags 5×8

Tt                            Salt

 

Procedure:

  1. Fill each bag with 8oz of rice
  2. Seal the bag an pierce 20 holes with a skewer
  3. Place in a pot and cover with water
  4. Simmer for approx two hours
  5. Remove from the pot and allow to cool
  6. Place in the reach-in until firm
  7. Cut open the bag and remove the rice cake
  8. Cut into small squares and serve with satay
