Malaysia- Nasi Lemak (Rich Rice)


         1 ½ cups                             Jasmine rice, washed thoroughly

1 2 inch piece                     Ginger, crushed

1 stalk                                 Lemongrass, crushed

1 ½ cups                             Coconut milk

½ cup                                  Water

1/2t                                     Salt

3ea                                      Pandanus leaves, washed and tied in a knot




  1. Place ingredients in the rice cooker (or conventional pot)
  2. Cover and cook on moderate heat until rice is done (traditionally served with curry)
