Parathas (Wheat Bread)

Ingredients:

½ cup                          AP Flour

2/3 cup                                    Whole Wheat Flour

½ teaspoon                  Salt

½ teaspoon                  Onion Seeds

½ teaspoon                  Celery Seeds

2/3 cup                                    Water

½ cup                          Ghee, melted

Procedure:

  1. Sift together flours and salt.  Add onion and celery seeds.
  2. Mix in enough water to form soft dough.
  3. Knead dough until smooth.
  4. Divide dough into 10 pieces.  Roll each into a 5″ round.
  5. Brush each round with ghee.  Fold in half.  Brush top half with ghee and fold again forming a triangle.
  6. Roll triangle out until both straight sides are 5 inches long.
  7. Heat a griddle.  Brush with ghee.  Cook parathas on each side until cooked and golden
  8. Season

Note: Other ingredients may be added to the dough such as turmeric and or spinach
